Also, there are performance boosting items (restricted to only fighting and running :P) like the adrenaline shot which makes you run, melee and perform actions faster for a short period of time. Small stacks of special ammo like incendiary and explosive ones can be found randomly and take up the medkit slot if carried along for later use. A great co-op shooter, nuff said.
